81-1
The lingam which is fervently worshipped by Lord Brahma
and Murari, (the foe of demon Mura, i.e., Lord Vishnu), the
lingam that is pure, resplendent and shining and the
lingam which destroys the sorrows arising from birth, to
that Sadasiva Lingam, I bow down in prostration.
81-2
The lingam which is worshipped by gods and great sages,
the (lingam) which burnt KAma deva (Cupid), the lingam
which bestows compassion, the lingam that quelled the
arrogance of Ravana, to that SadAsiva Lingam, I bow down
in prostration.
81-3
The lingam which is liberally smeared all over with all
fragrant unguents, the lingam which is the cause for
enhancing the discriminatory power, the lingam which is
worshipped by siddhas ( persons with extra ordinary and
superhuman powers), gods and demons, to that Sadasiva
Lingam, I bow down in prostration.
81-4
The lingam decorated with gold and superior gems, the
resplendent lingam which is entwined by the chief of
serpents, the lingam that destroyed the great sacrifice
of Daksha Prajapati, to that Sadasiva Lingam, I bow down
in prostration.
81-5
The lingam which is smeared with saffron and sandal
paste, the lingam which is shining with the garland of
lotuses, the lingam that destroys all sins accumulated
till that moment, to that SadAsiva Lingam, I bow down in
prostration.
81-6
The lingam worshipped and served by groups of devas,
the lingam which is (served) with devotional fervour,
the lingam which has the brilliance of a crore Suns, to
that Sadasiva Lingam, I bow down in prostration.
81-7
I bow before that Sada Siva Linga, which is seated on
the eight petalled lotus, which is the cause of all
creation, and which is the destroyer of poverty in all
its eight aspects (अष्ट दारिद्र्यं).
81-8
The lingam which is worshipped by "suraguru" (the
preceptor of the gods, i.e. Brahaspati) and the chief
among the gods (Indra) and always propitiated with the
flowers from the gardens in heaven, the lingam which
is greater than the greatest and which is the essence
of the most superior (Brahman), to that SadAsiva Lingam,
I bow down in prostration.
81-9
Fruitfulness of chanting this Octad
Whoever recites this holy octad in Lord Siva"s temple or
in front of a pratIka (प्रतीक, i.e. symbol of Lord Siva), attains
the world of Lord Siva and enjoys bliss with Him.
