80-1
I salute that Vinayaka who is happily keeping modaka in
His hand, who always ensures moksha (for His devotees),
who wears the crescent moon on His head, who,
sportfully, is the protector of the universe, who has
nobody above him as controller as he is the sole leader,
who is the destroyer of the eight elephantine demons
(kAma, krOdha, lObha, mOha, mada, mAtsarya, aha~NkAra
and aJNAna) and who instantly removes the sufferings of
those who supplicate before Him and protects them
by destroying the (inner) demons.
80-2
The one who is extremely terrible to those who turn
away from Him, one having the effulgence of the rising
Sun, one who is worshipped by demons and gods, one who
lifts up from extreme danger those who supplicate to
him, the chief among gods, the Lord of wealth, the prime
one among elephants, head of the group of gods
(celestials), supreme Lord, that (Ganesa) who is
supreme, in HIM I take refuge at all times.
80-3
I prostrate in front of that brilliant one who bestows
auspiciousness to the entire universe, who is the
destroyer of the elephantine demons (kAma, krOdha,
lObha, mOha, mada, mAtsarya, aha~NkAra and attachment),
one with a belly which is not small, one having the face
of a lofty elephant and one without dissipation or decay.
To those who supplicate to Him with reverence, he is
compassionate, he is given to forgiveness, he showers
happiness, he confers fame to his devotees, he bestows
wisdom and grants (satisfies) all their desires.
80-4
I pray to the Lord who removes all the wants of those in
penury, who is the repository of the essence of the
Vedas, who is the first -born of Purari (Lord Siva), one
who smashed to smithereens the arrogance of the enemies
of gods (i.e. the demons), who is powerful to remove the
delusion caused by the panchabhUtas (i.e annihilation of
maya from the minds of the devotees), who is decked with
serpents and other ornaments, one with the rut (मदजल्)
streaming down his cheeks, one who is the primordial
elephant.
80-5
One with a charming appearance and with a lustrous tusk,
the son of the one (Lord Siva) who curtailed the power
of Antaka (i.e.Yama), one of incomprehensible form, one
who has no end (one who is eternal), one who tears
asunder all difficulties, one who resides permanently in
the cave of the hearts of the yogis alone, that Lord who
has a single tusk, I meditate only upon him at all
times.
80-6
Whoever recites this pancharatna (five gems) on Maha
Ganesa every morning with reverence, meditating on the
chief of the gaNas (Lord Ganesa), attains ere long
disease-free body, blemishless state, good companion,
good progeny, peaceful and long life, and the
eight-siddhis which are super-human powers.
